5 Tips to Work more Efficiently

You are easily distracted in this busy world full of disctractions. This makes it difficult to do your work efficiently and you will therefore take longer to finish. 

Because a day only has 24 hours, you have less time to spend on other important things.

In this article, I will give you 5 easily applicable tips to be more productive and efficient, no matter what kind of job you have.

1. Provide a reward

If you offer yourself a reward, dopamine is released into your brain. This brings you into a happy flow so that you look more rationally at things and can make faster decisions. This ensures that you can handle your tasks faster.

2. Only open relevant apps

We all know that you can be easily distracted if you have too many tabs and apps open. Coincidentally checking your Facebook in between, quickly reading that email, etc. These are all distractions that keep you away from your real work and ensure that you take more time to finish. 

Make sure you only have the application that you are currently working with open.

3. Create a To-Do-List

Quickly saying hello to someone, scan not just the new email but your entire inbox quickly, answering a call... This can go on all day long and at the end of the day you didn't get to the important things that should have priority.

Because you handle the easy and quick-to-do things first, the rest is delayed.

Make a to-do list with a time frame in which you should complete the task so that you will work more efficiently. Make sure you first pick up the tricky things first so that they are out of the way.

4. Handle something in one go

Make sure that you handle most tasks in one go. So don't just scan the incoming email and answer it later, or start crafting a presentation and come back to it later. 

It has been proven that our brains need time to switch and that you work faster if you handle everything in one go. 

You also get a quick shot of dopamine when something is finished, so you can continue your day more motivated.

5. Take Notes

You know the drill. You think you're going to remember something. But do you really? If you have to come back to something later and you have to think about it and check again, you lose time. 

If you take notes during a conversation, you will have all the information you need and you will understand the information better. This is because you do not exactly write down every word from a conversation but your brain is already busy analyzing what is most important.
